A story describes a dialogue between God and the prophet Ezekiel who was in exile in Babylon. God instructs Ezekiel to teach the design of the future Temple to the Children of Israel. Ezekiel hesitates, saying, “Let it wait until we return to the Land of Israel …we cannot build it here in the land of Babylon.” And God responds, “No, teach it to the people now, because when the people are learning the design of your Temple, I will consider it as if they have already begun to build it.” Thus our learning is the very first step to rebuilding.
